A personal year number comes from adding your birth month and birth day to the year you are asking about, then reducing the total to one digit, stopping early on 11, 22, 28 or 33. Worked examples
Take someone born 17 September, asking about 2026. Add the parts as plain numbers: 9 + 17 + 2026 = 2052. Then reduce: 2052 → 9. Their personal year number for 2026 is 9, the closing year of the nine-year cycle.
The reduction can also stop early. Born 8 January, asking about 2027: 1 + 8 + 2027 = 2036, and 2036 → 11. Eleven is a preserved value, so the working ends there. That person's personal year for 2027 is 11, not a 2, even though 1 + 1 would ordinarily give 2.

How is a personal year number calculated?
Add your birth month and birth day to the four digits of the year you are asking about, then reduce the total by adding its digits together until one digit is left, keeping 11, 22, 28 or 33 if you land on one exactly. That figure is your personal year number.
Does the personal year start on my birthday or on January 1?
This site pins it to January 1, the calendar-year convention, the same one used in its written forecasts. A second convention runs the personal year from birthday to birthday. Both are common in the wider field, and they give different answers for the same birth date between January and your birthday, so check which one a source is using before comparing numbers.
Why does the calculator not ask for my birth year?
Because the formula does not use it. A personal year number needs only your birth month and birth day plus the target year. Asking for a full date of birth would collect data for no reason, so this calculator does not, and it stores nothing at all.
Is my birthday sent anywhere?
No. The whole calculation runs in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to a server, saved to an account, or written to storage, and there is no account system on this site to attach it to in the first place.
What personal year numbers are possible?
For 2026 and 2027 the possible results are 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 11. The single digit 2 does not appear, for anyone, in either year. The arithmetic of this era cannot produce it. Personal year 11 appears for roughly one birthday in ten, and 22, 28 and 33 have not been reachable as personal years since the 1990s.
